A Few Little Seedling Tray Tips

I have 44 little containers of potential this year. Some are coming along and others are lagging behind. Gardening requires the acceptance of failure. With each growing season, you will become a little more acclimated to this fact.
For me, it has taught me to always plant more than one of anything I want in the coming season. You also don’t want to over do it and waste your resources. Over the years, I have found the perfect number of seedlings for one plant is between 2-5 pots.
Once you have determined how many you want, it's time to start planting. I use a repurposed crate as my seedling tray and peat pots. I have used plastic and reusable seedling trays, but they always damage the roots of my plants. Peat pots are the ones I have the most success with when the seedlings are ready to go in the ground.
One last tip, timing is crucial. I planted everything that was going to start outside after our last frost. You can begin your plants indoors, but hardening off is required. Otherwise, you will lose them at the first bout of heat or cold.
If you are wondering when your last frost will occur, here is a link to the Farmers Almanac Tool to find it: https://www.almanac.com/gardening/frostdates
I hope these little tips have been helpful.
Happy Gardening!
